The Materials and Production Coordinator is responsible for managing packaging materials, raising purchase orders and production orders, and completing & managing all SKU master data within the SAP system to facilitate the packaging plan.
This role involves creating specifications, managing bills of materials and production orders, monitoring material stock levels, and managing the procurement and delivery of packaging materials
that meet the required Quality standards.
The coordinator ensures accurate control of master data, manages supplier relationships and oversees documentation related to materials and production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating specifications on SAP relating to materials, barcodes, cased goods, and ad-hoc items.
- Creation and control of master data (e.g weights and dimensions) for all products
- Creating material codes, full bill of materials and clear production orders for the operation team.
- Processing production orders in relation to the bottling operations.
- Creating and managing rework instructions within operations
- Managing the packaging supply base for existing components, specifically:
- Monitor stock levels of packaging materials and address shortages or surpluses
- Liaise with suppliers and raise PO’s to create a purchasing plan that ensures timely delivery to meet production plans & ensure no out of stock scenarios
- Negotiate prices with suppliers to meet or exceed budget/standard costs, while maintaining strong relationships and SLA’s
- Ensure all materials received meet quality standards and specifications
- Report any issues related to material defects or supplier non-compliance.
- Co-ordinate the process, paperwork, and SAP system transactions for the return to vendor process and spirit decant process, liaising with warehouse and spirit teams as well as suppliers where needed
- Provide cover for Scheduler, specifically liaising with 3rd party customers to manage material deliveries
Experience
- Strong knowledge of SAP for materials and production management.
- Experience in managing supplier relationships and procurement processes.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders
