One of Scotland’s most highly respected independent Scotch whisky company is looking to recruit a European Sales Manager. This business has built an excellent reputation for its high-quality cask selection, award-winning whisky releases, and strong relationships with collectors and distributors worldwide.
With continued growth across international markets, the company is now looking for an experienced commercial professional to lead and expand distribution across Europe.
The European Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and managing distributor relationships across key European markets. You will play a critical role in driving sales performance, supporting brand visibility, and identifying new opportunities for growth.
This is a highly relationship-driven role suited to someone who understands the premium spirits sector and enjoys working across international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with existing European distributors
- Identify and secure new distribution opportunities across priority markets
- Deliver sales targets and manage regional forecasting
- Support distributors with brand development, launches, and market activity
- Conduct regular market visits including trade meetings, tastings, and events
- Represent the business at international whisky and spirits exhibitions
- Work closely with internal teams on supply, pricing, and market strategy
We are looking for someone with a strong commercial background and a genuine passion for premium whisky.
You will likely have:
- Proven international sales experience within whisky, spirits, or premium drinks
- Experience managing distributors and building new export markets
- Strong knowledge of European on-trade and retail channels
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Confidence presenting brands and hosting tastings
- A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset
- Willingness to travel regularly across Europe
- Additional European language skills would be beneficial.
