One of Scotland's most exciting and dynamic Scotch Whisky producers has an exciting new role for a Production and Demand Planner to work with their extremely talented and passionate team.
The Demand and Production Planner plays a critical role in aligning production activities with required demand. The primary objective is to create and maintain production plans and schedules that meet demand, while optimising productivity and minimising costs. Overall, their responsibilities span demand forecasting, production planning, systems accuracy, inventory management, operational coordination, communication, continuous improvement, and reporting.
Production Planning:
- Develop production plans based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and manufacturing capabilities, including 3rd Party production, rework and repack scheduling.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule production runs and allocate resources effectively.
- Ensure production is aligned with wider business objectives.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address any delays or disruptions.
- Advise on site capacity and assist in the Sales and Operational Plan
Demand Planning:
- Collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, Finance, and other relevant departments and markets to gather market intelligence and historical sales data.
- Analyse demand patterns and trends to develop accurate forecasts and operational targets for future product demand.
- Flag to Operations, Commercial and Finance etc when forecast figures and or budgeted targets may need reevaluated in line with changing market conditions, promotions, and other factors impacting demand.
Systems Accuracy:
- Upload all SKUs to the ERP system and confirm that all required information is visible.
- Ensure that all works orders are in the system prior to production.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of work-in-progress, rework and finished goods to act accordingly.
- Support in forecasting inventory requirements based on production schedules, sales, and forecasts.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimise excess inventory and stockouts.
- Analyse inventory data to identify trends and make recommendations for inventory optimisation.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Responsible for updating and reporting on all planning related key performance indicators.
- Generate reports on forecasts, capacity, performance, and conformance to plan.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory documentation requirements.
